Exciting New Attractions coming to LEGOLAND Windsor

It’s the time of year when the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort is being prepared behind-the-scenes for when the new season begins in March. The Moles are busy tunnelling the mines below LEGOLAND Windsor for all of the LEGO bricks that will be needed for the new additions to the park. Read on to find out what will be new for 2013…

Here is the information from the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort about what to expect for the new year;

When the LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort opens for the 2013 season on 15 March guests can expect some exciting new additions to the UK’s most family-friendly destination.  The force will be stronger at LEGO® Star Wars™ Miniland Model Display with a new Star Wars™ Gallery, whilst a NEW improved Fairy Tale Brook ride will delight little ones and parents alike and a NEW Shark and Ray Nursery at Atlantis Submarine Voyage shows off some very special new arrivals.  PLUS in May a whole new themed land will open as DUPLO® VALLEY promises a pre-school paradise of splash-tastic play.

New at Star Wars MinilandSince it opened in March the 2012 LEGO Star Wars™ Miniland Model Display has proved a huge hit with guests with its miniature depictions of some of the most famous scenes from the beloved Star Wars™ films and animated series: Star Wars: The Clone Wars™.  In 2013 there will be twelve new reasons to return as 85cm high (almost 1m high) models join the Miniland landscape in a new Star Wars™ Gallery honouring Star Wars™ most famous heroes (and some villains too). Emerging from the scaled down LEGO film scenes fans will walk through the Star Wars™ Gallery where they can measure up to the larger models of their favourite characters from Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia to Chewbacca and Yoda – plus, of course, the ultimate Star Wars™ baddie, Darth Vader.

Updated Fairy Tale Brook Meanwhile younger guests will be enthralled by Fairy Tale Brook, a toddler friendly boat ride that journeys through a magical LEGO world created from over 1 million LEGO bricks inhabited by some famous fairy tale characters.  Meet Little Red Riding Hood and the Three Little Pigs, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves and the beautiful Cinderella featured with her stunning princess carriage and complete with LEGO glass slipper.

New to Atlantis Little ones and big ones alike will delight in the new Shark and Ray Nursery housing a family of brand new baby Bamboo sharks and a collection of juvenile/infant rays at the Resort’s Atlantis Submarine Voyage ride. Guests can walk right into the pop-up display and look 360 around at these amazing little creatures swimming only inches away.  In typical LEGOLAND style the new display will feature some fun DUPLO nursery touches with bright and colourful building blocks and play things decorating the display.

Duplo Valley
AND an entire brand new themed land, DUPLO Valley opens in May. Featuring The DUPLO Splash Safari - the ultimate wet play environment with a menagerie of DUPLO® animal friends including lions, giraffes and elephants for little ones, and for the slightly older ones, DUPLO Drench Towers, the largest water structure in the UK especially designed for maximum soaking. In dry area Brickville, children can create their own world on climbing frames and slides fitted to bright DUPLO buildings like the Caveman’s House and the Town Garage, meeting appealing DUPLO characters - including dinosaurs and colourful clowns – along the way. When small hands and feet are tired, climb aboard the Brickville Express for a DUPLO train ride around town or hop on board the police helicopter for a bird’s eye view, before catching a show at the DUPLO Puppet Theatre with family friendly shows happening throughout the day.
So although Duplo Valley only appeals to a select group of visitors, other attractions are getting little upgrades as well. Hopefully this will be a new precedent, with the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort regularly taking care of attractions rather than leaving them until a point comes when they have to be replaced. There will be more details on the new attractions soon, so keep checking back at All About Bricks.
