Duplo Valley to open at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort

The little ones are not being forgotten at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, as Duplo Valley is set to open in May 2013. The Duplo Splash Safari, Duplo Drench Towers and Brick Ville make up the new area along with classic attractions. The good folk at LEGOLAND Windsor have passed along more details, so read on for the rest.

Here is the full press release for Duplo Valley:
A pre-school paradise of imaginative fun and play awaits young visitors to the LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort in May 2013 with the opening of a completely new themed land - DUPLO® Valley. This exciting new water play area will bring to life the colourful pre-school building toy range – LEGO® DUPLO® with its popular characters, animals and vehicles and will feature a mix of toddler friendly rides, creative wet play areas and spectacular water features.

The DUPLO® Splash Safari is the ultimate wet play environment for little ones. Toddlers can safely splash around amongst a menagerie of DUPLO animal friends - from lions and giraffes, to zebras and elephants.  High at the top of the Valley sits the DUPLO® Drench Towers - the largest water structure in the UK especially designed for maximum soaking. Older kids will love dodging the outsized tipping brick and whizzing down the six River Rapids splashtastic water slides in head to head competition.
There’s also plenty of dry fun in Brickville where the landscape is designed for exploring and imaginative play.  Children can climb around a village full of bright DUPLO® buildings fitted with climbing frames and slides. From the Caveman’s House to the Town Garage, there’s plenty of surprises to discover and lots of appealing DUPLO® characters to meet, including curious dinosaurs and colourful clowns. And when small hands and feet are tired it’s time to climb aboard the Brickville Express for a DUPLO® train ride around town or hop on board the police helicopter for a bird’s eye view. Who will be waiting for you?

And no visit to DUPLO® Valley would be complete without a trip to the DUPLO® Puppet Theatre with family friendly shows happening throughout the day.

New DUPLO® Valley means there’s more than ever before to keep the whole family happy at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort.  With over 55 rides and attractions including the world famous LEGOLAND driving school, the new in 2012 LEGO ® STAR WARS ™ Miniland experience, Pirates Stunt Show, the world’s first submerged LEGO submarine ride -  Atlantis Submarine voyage – AND an amazing 150 room themed Hotel - it is the ultimate family friendly Resort.

The LEGOLAND Windsor Resort caters perfectly for the under fives, with colourful nappy changing areas, buggies for hire, swim nappies for babies plus swimwear for kids of all ages, stand-in drying machines for use post-Splash and a range of child-friendly menus to enjoy at restaurants throughout the park and in the Hotel.

The Fairy Tale Boat Ride will still be part of Duplo Valley, although it will be “updated”. It will be a relief to many nostalgic LEGOLAND fans that this classic ride will remain, but perhaps not enough good news to ease any concern. After all, “updated” could mean small changes like improved boats, or a hefty revamp that significantly changes the models. Perhaps rather than an “update”, simply cleaning the ride up now and again would have kept it fresh…
