McDonalds Happy Meals Feature The LEGO Movie

There’s every excuse for a LEGO fan to tuck in to some fast food at the moment, with McDonalds Happy Meals featuring The LEGO Movie. There are eight different lenticular cups to collect with a different character on each.

The promotion kicked off on February 5th. Each Happy Meal comes in a box featuring The LEGO Movie. The box includes a little punch-out puzzle for young fans to piece together Wildstyle’s Supercycle. There’s also a voucher to get 50% off a Family Ticket to the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort or the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre.

The important bit of any Happy Meal of course is the toy, which in this case is more of a cup. Each Happy Meal contains one of eight cups, featuring a key character and scene from The LEGO Movie. When tilted, the character and scene move.

Each lenticular cup also comes with two trading cards, making sixteen trading cards to collect as well (they are not packed randomly). Each card has a fun fact about the character on the card followed by a trivia question.

The eight cups are listed below (respective trading cards are in brackets).

  • Emmet (Emmet and Batman)
  • Wildstyle (Wildstyle and Emmet)
  • Uni Kitty (Uni Kitty and Uni Kitty)
  • Vitruvius (Vitruvius and Wildstyle)
  • Metal Beard (Metal Beard and Vitruvius)
  • Batman (Batman and Metal Beard)
  • Lord Business (President Business and Lord Business)
  • Bad Cop (Bad Cop and Good Cop)

The Happy Meal boxes also include a voucher to buy one of two exclusive LEGO books for just £1.00. These can be collected from WHSmith, and (claim to) RRP at £4.99. They may not be worth that, but they are certainly worth £1.00. The choice is between LEGO Friends Let’s Go Riding or LEGO Hero Factory Meet the Heroes

So there’s another way to engage with The LEGO Movie whilst LEGO gets this extreme promotional and media blitz. The promotion ends on March 18th, so for those who are looking to collect the set make sure you have them all before then.
